Stories On Our Plate (SOOP) warmly invites you to SOOP's monthly food and storytelling series, showcasing this month Lebanese cook Ribale Haidar of Brunch Beirut. Expect a brunch of storytelling, interactive materials, and personal scrumptious dishes of a Lebanese brunch. You will also hear more about SOOP's work from across the organisation and its approach to food. Profits from the monthly series go towards culinary support for refugee and migrant cooks looking to break into the food and catering industry.
Nothing brings people together like good food. Using ingredients straight from Lebanon mixed with fresh produce, Ribale will be cooking up a storm of dishes to share with soon-to-be friends. Growing up in Beirut, Ribale spent endless mornings watching her mom upturn the kitchen whipping up dishes one after another like magic. It was only a matter of time until she too started experimenting with traditional Lebanese recipes. While most Londoners know their hommos from their baba ghanouj, few have experienced a Lebanese brunch. Brunch Beirut is on a mission to bring Beirut Sunday feel to London.
SOOP has got together with partner venue Space@61 in Nunhead, South-East London. As a thriving cookery school and pop-up venue, Space@61 offers an intimate yet vibrant feel within a vibrant neighbourhood. This is not a venue to miss out on! Join us for a very unique Lebanese brunch!
Welcoming, stimulating, interactive, extremely yummy, interesting, warming.
