Stories On Our Plate (SOOP) warmly invites you to SOOP's monthly food and storytelling series, showcasing this month Anglo-Palestinian cook and teacher Tamara Tahhan of Clapton Kitchen. You will become immersed in the flavours of stories of Tamara's Anglo-Palestinian culinary heritage. Expect an evening of storytelling, interactive materials, and personal scrumptious dishes. You will also hear more about SOOP's work from across the organisation and its approach to food in day-to-day life.
This is a unique menu of Anglo-Palestinian cookery primarily featuring recipes and inspired creations from Tamara's upbringing. Hear personal, quirky stories from Tamara's heritage, hosted at the lovely 119 cafe on Lower Clapton Road, Clapton.

Menu (subject to some changes)
Cauliflower Moutabal – roasted cauliflower and tahini dip, served with marinated mushrooms, toasted walnut crumbs and sage, chilli butter
Allayet Bandora – a spiced tomato and potato mezze, with toasted pine nuts and parsley
Tea smoked beetroot served with minty labneh, sumac, red onions and fennel (dairy free option available)
Malfouf – cabbage stuffed with rice, barberries and fresh herbs. Braised in lemon and garlic sauce
Slow roasted lamb shoulder
Vegetrarian – roasted eggplant, marinated with preserved lemon and spices
Freekeh Pilaf – freekeh, chickpeas, caramelised leeks and garlic with lamb or vegetable broth, roasted pumpkin, fried almonds, marinated red cabbage and yogurt (dairy free option available)
Palestinian dates stuffed with cardamom cream, pistachio and pomegranate with roasted cinnamon, blood oranges, and a tahini cookie
